Becoming a nurse when you already have a BA in another field

Wait 5 sec.

Hello hello! I moved to MI from FL in June and honestly....I want to change my career. Currently I work a web development manager role and am currently choosing between Nursing and Firefighting as potential major career shifts. With this, I am trying to figure out the best way to make one of these dreams a reality, firefighting seems to be pretty straight forward in terms of what I need to do from a step 1 to finished kind of thing. But Ive always been drawn to the idea of being a nurse, with this obviously there comes some issues.....for one I already have a BA in a completely different field and will not have access to the standard financial aid options. I am not a rich person(far from it), nor do I have a lot saved up to be able to out right pay for everything. This is why I come to this community to hopefully get some insight into what others did to make this career possible for them. How did you go about making the process of becoming a Nurse relatively affordable? How difficult was it managing a nursing degree with another job? How was it transitioning from an entirely different field to Nursing? Thank you so much in advance for anything you are willing to share :D submitted by /u/omega9910 [link] [comments]
