I'm a solo developer and I made Play Table because it sounded like a fun side project to build for my family to play. Here the TV shows the table - the discard pile, the pot, the scores - and each person's phone shows only their own cards. A few things I cared about: Guests join by scanning a QR code on the TV. No account, no download for them. You can switch from Go Fish to Mexican Train without anyone rejoining, and a medal board tracks who's winning the whole night. With the Deck Builder add-on, you can put your own photos on the cards. Photos stream to the table and are never stored on a server. It gets onto most TVs: cast to Chromecast or Google TV, AirPlay from an iPhone, open it in the TV's browser, or, as of this week, install the Fire TV app. No ads, no analytics, nothing tracking you. Kids end up playing this at family game nights, so the app doesn't collect anything about anyone, and photos are never stored. 27 games, all free to play. There are optional $0.99 decks and announcer voices, and putting your own photos on cards is a $1.99 Deck Builder unlock in the phone app. Web: playtableapp.com · iOS https://apps.apple.com/us/app/play-table-app/id6797384352 · Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playtableapp · Fire TV https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0HNHHZRT7) I'd love to hear what breaks, especially on your TV setup. submitted by /u/alanjuden [link] [comments]
