We're a agency that builds chat automations for clients: comment-to-DM on Instagram, WhatsApp flows, Telegram bots, that kind of thing. For 3 years we did all of it on ManyChat. ManyChat is a good product. But running it for 35 clients wore us down: Pricing is per contact, so whenever a campaign worked, the client's bill went up. We were the ones explaining that on calls. Features are split across plans, so some clients couldn't run the flow we'd designed for them without upgrading. Every contact and conversation lives in ManyChat's account, not the client's. We were juggling 150 separate accounts and logins. So we built BrightBean Chat, the tool we wished we'd had. It's one install with a workspace per client. Every client gets every feature, and the data sits in a database we (or the client) control. The agency part Organizations and workspaces, one per client, with enforced tenant isolation Invite clients into their own workspace with role-based access Shared inbox with assignment, labels, and human takeover, so the client's team can jump into conversations without breaking the bot Everything else Visual flow builder: conditions, delays, randomizers, nested flows, HTTP requests, data collection Triggers: keywords, comment-to-DM, story mentions and replies, ref links and QR codes Drip sequences and broadcasts with compliance checks (24h messaging windows, opt-outs, STOP handling) Per-node analytics: sent, delivered, failed, clicked REST API and signed webhooks for n8n, Make, or Zapier Channels: Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS (bring your own Twilio), and email (SMTP, Resend, or SES). What it costs Nothing. Unlimited contacts, every feature, no plan tiers. What it doesn't do No TikTok No AI. That's on purpose. Clients get flows that do exactly what we built, which is easier to sign off on. Try it git clone https://github.com/brightbeanxyz/brightbean-chat.git cd brightbean-chat docker compose up Or even simpler there's also a one-click Railway deploy. Stack: Django 5, Python 3.12, PostgreSQL, React Flow for the builder.
