Oldhead here. I read about players apologizing for celebrating their goals in front of opposing fans almost every week now. I don’t remember this being an issue in the past. Personally, I like the taunting, it adds to the rivalry of the game. However, I don’t remember this being an issue in the past or reading about it until a few years ago.
