Warraq - Free offline PDF editor & scanner for Android (built with Flutter + Rust)

Wait 5 sec.

Hi r/SideProject, I'm the solo developer of Warraq. I got tired of uploading my documents to random websites just to merge, compress or edit a PDF, so I built an app that does everything on the phone itself. What it does: • Edit text directly on the page, including right-to-left languages like Arabic • Smart scanner: auto edge detection, cropping, and both sides of an ID card on one A4 page • OCR for Arabic and Latin text, so scans become searchable • 16 tools: merge, split, compress, sign, watermark, protect/unlock, convert and more • Works fully offline. No uploads, no account • Interface in 16 languages with proper RTL support Pricing, to be upfront: reading, search, annotations and adding text are free, and there are no ads on the reading screen. Heavier tools run on a free allowance that refills every month. The only ad is an optional one if you want to top it up sooner. Tech: Flutter for the UI, and a Rust engine for all the PDF processing, which is why large files open fast. Free on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.warraq.pdf iPhone, Windows, macOS and Linux versions are in development. I'd really appreciate honest feedback, especially on what feels missing or confusing. Thanks for reading! submitted by /u/sameer-alsalmani [link] [comments]
