It was designed to address end-of-life issues with HVAC systems, escalators and other basic operating features. It also intended to add weatherization upgrades to the seating bowl, allowing the ballpark to host events in the winter offseason. However, in September, a meeting of the Park District board resulted in the delay of the weatherization plan to 2027, so it’s now unlikely to occur in the upcoming offseason.“Winterization continues under a design process. There are a lot of moving parts to it,” Facilities manager Brian Dworak said, via CBS.“A lot of places where we’re running piping and other electrical elements, so we’re taking time to make sure we have the right plan.”Work on the escalators however will go ahead after making headlines in 2024 when 11 people were left injured after it malfunctioned.Upgrades of social spaces and club facilities, some of which had not been touched since the ballpark’s 2001 opening, are also going ahead. The Park District board delayed Winterization renovations to American Family Field to 2027GettyThe Stadium first opened in 2001 and was previously known as ‘Miller Park’GettyNew Truss Club expected to open on timeThere will be plenty of offseason work at American Family Field upon the conclusion of the World Series. The brand new ‘Truss Club’ will be a high-end, all-inclusive gathering space for 375 season ticket holders. It is designed around a central gathering space with a bar and two levels of dining areas.A dedicated parking lot, private security screening, private lockers for bag storage, private restrooms and a meeting room available for rent are also included.Pricing starts at $245 per game, inclusive of everything: a ticket, parking and food and beverage, both inside the club and at the seat.
