MLabs is hiring a part-time Product Designer for a client, a high-growth data and trend intelligence platform serving consumer brands in beauty, wellness, and food and beverage. Fully remote, United States, about 20 hours a week on contract. Core hours are 9:00 to 12:00 Eastern, so you need to be in US Central or Eastern time. Target start is January, with early onboarding available. What you would own: product experience from discovery to launch, including proposals, user flows, wireframes and full Figma specs. You would turn usage data, customer feedback and research calls into design decisions. You would also design the generative AI experiences: chat, automated reports and inline summaries, with confidence levels, data attribution, loading and error states. You would also maintain the Figma design system and keep it aligned with the React component library. What they ask for: 2+ years of hands-on product design with shipped work, and a portfolio with at least one case study that starts from an ambiguous problem. They want interest in data-dense software (analytics, dashboards, reporting), experience scaling a design system in Figma, and interest in or experience with AI and LLM products. The role is UX and UI in Figma only. No production code, no brand or marketing design. Nice to have: founding or solo designer experience, experience evaluating generative output quality, data visualisation, exposure to CPG, beauty or market research. Compensation is listed as competitive and set to experience. The process is a video screen, an online assessment, a 30-minute chat with the Lead Designer, a screen-recorded case study, and a final interview.
