The AUDUSD has found support and resistance against two separate moving averages. They are providing the borderlines for both buyers and sellers now. The low for the week was on Monday.Recall, that the AUDUSD has worked its way higher from Monday’s low near 0.6970, with buyers pushing back above a familiar swing area between 0.6989 and 0.6994.That area is marked by the red numbered circles on the chart. The repeated highs and reactions tell traders why it matters. What had been a ceiling needed to be broken to give the buyers more control. Once above, that ceiling becomes a potential floor. The break higher opened the door for a move toward the next key target: the 100-day moving average at 0.7032.The buyers made their move. But at that moving average, the sellers showed up.Sellers lean against the 100-day MAOn Wednesday, the price tested the 100-day moving average and stalled. Today, sellers leaned against that level again. Why sell there? It gives traders a clear level to define and limit risk. Stay below, and the sellers can look for a rotation lower. Move above and stay above, and that bearish trade loses some of its technical support.A sustained break above 0.7032 would have traders looking toward:0.70447: An intervening chart level.0.70506: The 200-day moving average.0.70654: The 50% midpoint of the September-to-October decline.Getting above the 100-day MA would be another step forward for the buyers. They would still have work to do, however, with the 200-day MA waiting above.Buyers defend the 100-hour MA belowWhile sellers have defended resistance, buyers have also been leaning against support.Pullbacks on Thursday and Friday stalled near the 100-hour moving average, currently around 0.7008. That makes it a close risk-defining level for buyers looking for the recovery to continue.Stay above is more bullish. Break below, and the door opens for a rotation back toward:0.6989–0.6994: The swing area marked by the red numbered circles.0.6984: The rising 200-hour moving average.A move back below those levels would take away more of the buyers’ progress from earlier this week. For now, the battle is defined. Sellers are leaning against the 100-day MA above. Buyers are leaning against the 100-hour MA below. Traders are waiting for the next shove. In the video, I walk through those levels, explain why they matter, and outline what buyers and sellers need to do to take more control.
