StealthOS: Open-source Rust relay, reproducible iOS Tor client, and P2P networking for mobile privacy

Hi r/opensource, We recently published version 1.5.0 of StealthOS, a private desktop operating environment for iOS that includes support for the new foldable iPhone Duo. Our core philosophy is that where user data moves across the network, the code must be public and auditable. We have open-sourced the underlying networking infrastructure on GitHub: 1. StealthRelay (Rust) GitHub: https://github.com/Olib-AI/StealthRelay What it does: A lightweight, self-hosted relay written in Rust with an embedded web client. It forwards end-to-end encrypted traffic between peers without being able to read or decrypt the payloads. Friends without the mobile app can join via the open-source web interface. 2. TorClient (iOS / C) GitHub: https://github.com/Olib-AI/TorClient What it does: Compiles the Tor daemon from verified upstream sources into a static C library for iOS with reproducible builds. This allows developers to verify byte-for-byte binary reproducibility rather than relying on unverified third-party binaries. 3. ConnectionPool (Swift) GitHub: https://github.com/Olib-AI/ConnectionPool What it does: Peer-to-peer networking engine supporting local mesh communication (over ad-hoc Wi-Fi and Bluetooth without internet access) as well as routed remote pools through self-hosted relays. 4. PoolChat (Swift) GitHub: https://github.com/Olib-AI/PoolChat What it does: End-to-end encrypted messaging engine powering ephemeral chats, voice notes, and real-time state synchronization. The Client App The iOS client runs a multi-window desktop environment with an encrypted password vault, OpenPGP key management, on-device phishing detection, and a browser routed through Tor or your self-hosted relay with a fail-closed kill switch. App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/stealthos/id6756983634 Documentation: https://www.stealthos.app Core features are free with no accounts, no analytics SDKs, and no ads. We welcome feedback, issues, and contributions on the GitHub repositories. submitted by /u/ahstanin [link] [comments]
