Silver Just Lost Two Floors. Is $50 Next?SilverOANDA:XAGUSDTrade-LeanSilver just closed two weeks in a row through two different floors on the quarterly map. That's a real change in the picture. This is the Q4 grid, built from Q3's high, low and close, on weekly candles. The pivot sits at $62.11. The S 0.184 zone, the bottom of the neutral range, runs from roughly $58.24 to $59.71, and S 0.382 is at $55.84. Step one came the week of Oct 12. Silver closed that week at $56.97, below the whole S 0.184 zone. So it left the neutral range. Step two came this week. Price dropped to $53.03 and closed Friday at $53.90, below S 0.382. That's a confirmed weekly close, not just a wick. Metals are closed for the weekend, so that's where things stand. So what's next? I think the S 0.702 zone at roughly $49.22 to $51.97 is the next real test. S 0.702 itself sits at $50.59. That's step three on the chart. I wouldn't be surprised by a bounce back toward $55.84 first, which is why the path retests that level before heading lower. As long as the weekly closes stay below it, that's just a retest from underneath. What would make me wrong? A weekly close back above $55.84. That would put silver back above S 0.382 and take the pressure off. So is silver heading for $50, or was this week the flush before a bounce? Let me know in the comments. Chart: XAGUSD, OANDA.
