Considering nursing as second career and I desperately need advice

Wait 5 sec.

I’m 31 and I have a bachelor’s in political science and women’s studies. I’ve worked in different jobs for non-profits and although I mostly loved what I did, the pay was horrible. Now I’m taking first year engineering courses but I’m constantly hesitant. I will be 37 by the time I finish and I’m scared of not finding a job after all the hustle. On the other hand, I can finish nursing in 5 semesters and actually start living my life: date, work out, move out, maybe even have children. But the dissatisfaction and hate towards nursing is so high that it scares me SO MUCH. I have to decide in a week which route I want to take. Continue with the engineering degree or pivot to nursing. I also have the option of going back for a social work degree. Is nursing so bad that it’s worth it for me to stick it out in engineering and postpone my life for another 6 years, while risking not even finding a job after? This question is destroying my mental health and I really nice some advice from those in the field. TIA submitted by /u/Legal_Cress_2851 [link] [comments]
