Unbeaten Dotsy to Withdraw from Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies

Wait 5 sec.

Undefeated GI Frizette Stakes heroine Dotsy (Tacitus), who would have been trainer John Grabowski's first entrant to the World Championships, will be withdrawn from the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. The news was first reported by Blood Horse's Olivia Newman.Grabowski told Newman that his star grey was 'fine' and that while he was thankful for the Breeders' Cup experience, he would be looking forward to Dotsy's 3-year-old year. Her entry into the World Championships was never a sure thing, as immediately after her 11-1 upset victory in the Frizette, Grabowski admitted he'd not planned to go to the Breeders' Cup and that he'd need to discuss options with jockey Kendrick Carmouche. The contest was a part of the Breeders' Cup Dirt Dozen series for the Juvenile Fillies. A nominated winner of the Frizette would receive a $30,000 credit toward entry fees. It also offered 10 points to the winner toward the GI Kentucky Oaks.Dotsy broke her maiden Aug. 26 at Saratoga for her Finger Lakes-based conditioner, defeating maidens by four lengths before turning her attention to the Frizette. Turning away all challengers in that Belmont feature, including 'TDN Rising Star, presented by Hagyard' Libby Lloyd (Into Mischief), she went on to win by 2 3/4 lengths to register Grabowski's first Grade I victory as well as her own.The post Unbeaten Dotsy to Withdraw from Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
