A Connecticut-based company is expanding one of its plants to boost the production of the world’s most powerful jet engine’s components. Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, announced the start of construction on a new $100 million facility to increase production of F-35 engine components. The expanded site is expected to become operational in 2028, creating more than 120 jobs.Manufacturing of critical rotating jet engine components“Six months ago, we were talking about this investment as a plan and an opportunity to strengthen Poland’s position as a strategic center of excellence for Pratt & Whitney,” said Piotr Owsicki, general manager, Pratt & Whitney in Rzeszów. “Today, we begin turning that plan into reality. Through strong collaboration across our teams and our shared commitment to delivering for our customers, we are breaking ground on a new Rzeszów facility that will expand our ability to develop highly advanced capabilities and technologies.”The new facility will introduce manufacturing of critical rotating components and meet the growing global demand for commercial and military engines, including the Pratt & Whitney GTF, F135 and F100 engines. The expanded site is expected to become operational in 2028, creating more than 120 jobs.Rzeszów site provides advanced manufacturing, technology development capabilitiesThe company revealed that the Rzeszów site provides advanced manufacturing and technology development capabilities for commercial and military engines, turboprops and auxiliary power units. Its work includes the producing critical engine components such as the GTF fan drive gear system, F100 static structures and key F135 parts. The site also manufactures engines for helicopters, business jets and general aviation aircraft — specifically those from the PT6, PW200, PW500/600 and PW800 families.“Six months ago, we were talking about this investment as a plan and an opportunity to strengthen Poland’s position as a strategic center of excellence for Pratt & Whitney,” said Piotr Owsicki, general manager, Pratt & Whitney in Rzeszów. “Today, we begin turning that plan into reality.
