I’ve seen patients on Medicaid go plastic surgery from other states/countries. They end up in ER from complications. They can’t go back to work because of non healing wounds and can’t afford to see plastic surgery in our home state because they want money upfront. They can’t afford to travel to see the original surgeon. These aren’t even the people who end up hospitalized or with more severe complications. Even when affordable, it’s not affordable.
