I've been working on OpenTrader for some time now. It started from a few frustrations I had with existing popular trading platforms, mostly around historical data, performance, and limitations on how you can use the tools. Here are the issues it addresses: Historical data: 20 years of daily data and 5 years of 1-second data, making it possible to study past market behavior in detail (note that's the current low limit and it will include more second level history) Performance: Indicators are calculated locally rather than on a remote server. I've tested it with live data and haven't experienced lag, even at market open. Charts and indicators: Up to 16 charts per layout, with no limit on the number of indicators. Extensibility: It's open source! You can extend it the way you want. Data quality: Market volume can be misleading when providers only cover part of the exchanges. Getting reliable volume data was an important part of the project. Backtesting: Entries are checked against the lowest available timeframe rather than relying solely on the selected chart timeframe, improving the accuracy of the results. The main limitation right now is that market data is delayed by 15 minutes. Live data works, but the licensing costs are significant. I'm hoping sponsorships will eventually help cover the cost of upgrading the data feed. OpenTrader is now a functional MVP, although it hasn't been extensively tested. I'm sharing it here before going to trading communities because I'd rather get a small number of users testing it first, identifying bugs, and giving feedback.
