I built AppAtlas to put Mac app updates, permissions and background processes in one place

Wait 5 sec.

I’m the developer of AppAtlas, a native Mac app for getting a clearer picture of installed software. It brings a searchable app inventory, available updates and version history, signing/notarization context, permission information and background process groups into one workspace. You can organize collections, export your inventory and explore alternatives from an app’s detail page. The inventory stays on your Mac. Optional online lookups add catalog and developer information, so update coverage depends on the sources available. I’m being careful not to treat an old release as proof that an app is abandoned. Screenshots and demos: https://products.metloub.com/appatlas It requires Apple silicon and macOS 26+. It’s $9.99 USD once for lifetime access on one active Mac, with no subscription or free trial. I’d welcome feedback on the product page: is there enough evidence shown to help you decide what needs attention, or does it still feel like another list of installed apps? submitted by /u/Metloub [link] [comments]
