I built a map of hidden and abandoned places with real photos and the stories behind them

Wait 5 sec.

Hi all, I'm Aurelijus, a solo founder from Roosendaal (NL). For the past months I've been building VeroMaps: a map of hidden gems, abandoned buildings and forgotten history. Every spot has real photos and, where we have it, the story of what the place was. What it does today: 3D map plus an Explore feed. Smart search understands things like "castles in poland". Groups, free or paid. A paid group's owner keeps 82%. Tips for the person who added a spot (they keep 85%). A private journal for places you've been, and a photo vault: 2 GB free, 50 GB with Plus. 22 languages. What I'm unsure about, and where I'd value your opinion: Is the first screen clear within 5 seconds? Do paid groups make sense to you, or does that feel off for a discovery app? Anything that breaks on your phone. Link: https://veromaps.com (works in the browser without signing up; you only need an account to save or post). Happy to answer anything about the stack, costs or what didn't work. submitted by /u/No-Abbreviations8117 [link] [comments]
