Been doing nights in the ICU for three years at this point – and one or two shifts in a row, no issue, I'm out cold the second my head hits the pillow. Its night number three that wrecks me. Maybe four hours of sleep, then I wake up totally wired and the rest of the day im basically walking around underwater. Before anyone asks, yes I do all of it (blackout curtains, earplugs, a fan going & zero caffeine past the halfway mark of the shift…) plus my phone sits on do not disturb, banished to the far side of the room out of arms reach on an anker nano smart display charger – out of sight, out of mind. My managers big suggestion was to just move to days. Days are not happening!! I just want to be able to sleep after three nights in a row. So whats everyones routine? Because mine clearly isnt cutting it, not even close. submitted by /u/Braveuser68 [link] [comments]
