I built a free app for family trees and family stories. Could you test the first-time experience?

Hi everyone! I’m the maker of Rootstory, a free web app for building family trees and preserving the stories and photographs connected to them. There are a few ways to get started: Explore public families: Browse existing family trees, including historical families like the Curies, and explore how people are connected. Start with your words: Describe a few relatives and their relationships in everyday language, and let AI create a starting tree that you can review and edit. Build from scratch: Add people and connect their relationships yourself. Preserve memories: Save family stories and photographs alongside your tree, and invite relatives to contribute. I’d love feedback from people seeing it for the first time. You can browse public trees before signing up, or try creating a small tree using fictional names. Was it clear where to begin? Where did you hesitate or get stuck? I’m also curious whether you’d personally start with a tree, a photograph, or a written memory. App: rootstory.app Specific criticism and bug reports would be especially helpful. I’ll be here to answer questions. submitted by /u/Intelligent_Tour_382 [link] [comments]
