A first Manchester City defeat, more Manchester United misery, Chelsea humiliation and multiple managers under pressure. It is never a dull weekend of Premier League action as the Citizens became the 20th and final side to lose their unbeaten streak this season.City’s 100 per cent start to the Premier League season ended with a defeat in Matchweek 8GettyA 2-1 away defeat at Aston Villa allowed Arsenal to move on level points at the top of the table following their 2-0 win over Everton. But the biggest talking point was at Old Trafford, with Michael Carrick facing the sack after Manchester United lost 3-0 at home to Bournemouth.Meanwhile, Tottenham secured a first win and clean sheet at Stamford Bridge against ten-man Chelsea in 40 years. With plenty to discuss from the weekend’s football, talkSPORT’s Sam Matterface, Alex Crook and Troy Deeney dissect the drama in our Premier League All Access show.Picking out their heroes and villains, here’s what they had to say…Who are talkSPORT’s Premier League Heroes?Sam Matterface – Nicolas JacksonThe 25-year-old continued his purple patch in front of goal as he scored twice for Villa to bring his tally for the season to seven goals across all competitions.Question marks were raised when he joined the Midlands outfit from Chelsea for a club-record package deal worth £65million in August. But he has proven to so far be money well spent, with his latest double seeing Villa become the first side to beat City in three consecutive league games since Liverpool in December 2016.Hailing the Senegal international, Matterface remarked: “I think a lot of people wrote him off.“I always told you that I thought he was talented, but he just couldn’t stop going offside and making bad decisions.“But he’s a little bit more mature and I think he’s better with his decision-making now.”Only Erling Haaland has scored more goals [13] than Jackson [seven] for a Premier League side this seasonGettyTroy Deeney – Marco RoseAfter six matches without a top-flight win, German boss Rose has now won his last two – with a 3-0 triumph over AC Milan in the Europa League sandwiched in between. And to say the 3-0 victory at United flatters the Red Devils would be an understatement.Singling out the ex-Borussia Dortmund manager, Watford cult hero Deeney said: “What a week he has had, by the way.“From going under pressure to beating Sunderland, to beating AC Milan, to beating Man United and scoring eight goals with no goals conceded.“And like a lot of teams last season, he could say he beat [Ruben] Amorim and Carrick in the same season.”Bournemouth’s rout over United may prove to be Carrick’s final game in chargeGettyAlex Crook – William OsulaIn a season which has been hampered by a foot injury so far, the 23-year-old grabbed his first of the campaign in Newcastle‘s 2-0 win at Crystal Palace on Sunday.Having scored twice in his opening 50 Premier League games, the two-cap Denmark international now has seven strikes in his last 13 outings in the competition.Quick to give the former Sheffield United striker his flowers, Crook stated: “My hero, I’m going to make William Osula, actually.“I thought he took it really well in the game at Palace.“And at a time when old-school No.9s are dying out, he is a bit of a throwback, Osula.“And if they can keep him fit in that No.9 position, I think Newcastle under Matthias Jaissle will be just fine.”Osula broke the deadlock at Selhurst Park after the break, with Harvey Barnes sealing Newcastle’s winAFPWho are talkSPORT’s Premier League Villains?Troy Deeney – Marc GuehiWithdrawn at half-time at Villa Park, it was Guehi‘s mistake that led to Jackson’s first goal. The England centre-back now has three errors leading to goals this season – along with teammate Gianluigi Donnarumma. And for Deeney, he believes the 26-year-old is a shadow of the player that starred under Pep Guardiola‘s tutelage in the second half of last season. He said: “Marc Guehi doesn’t look like he knows how to defend anymore, since [Enzo] Maresca has come in, he looks a bag of nerves.“That touch was all over the place, it was horrible.”He added: “I think he’s [Maresca] mismanaging Marc Guehi in that defensive line, asking him to do so much in terms of being able to play.”Deeney continued: “Have you not noticed? All of that backline look crap.“At Chelsea when Maresca was there, [Robert] Sanchez was not great, but they all looked crap, they all looked shaky, same at Leicester.“It has to be a theme that they’re not working on anything defensively.”Guehi is suffering from a loss of form this season – despite City sitting top of the tableGettySam Matterface – Tottenham fansSpurs sealed just a second Premier League victory at Stamford Bridge – their first since 2018 – as Roberto De Zerbi‘s side made it two top-flight wins on the bounce. It proved to be a nightmare of a match for the Blues, who had Cole Palmer sent off late in the second half. And for Chelsea fan Matterface, he has been made to rue his overly-confident predictions that his beloved side would easily sweep aside Tottenham on home soil once again. He said: “My villains, every single person of a Tottenham persuasion that has texted me in the last 48 hours.“I know it doesn’t happen very often, but yes, you won at Stamford Bridge, I know I had a laugh and joke about it in the build-up to it, sorry.“I got over-cocky, I apologise, but well done, you’ve won twice in 43 visits. Congratulations.”Chelsea have dropped to fifth in the table following their third defeat from their opening eight league gamesGettyAlex Crook – Train companies/his brotherIt was not a positive weekend for Crook after United dropped to 16th in the table after picking up their sixth defeat of the season across all competitions. And he was then hampered by train delays having been on talkSPORT reporting duties live at Selhurst Park.A disgruntled Crook vented: “Villains, all the train companies have ruined my life this weekend, honestly, I’m at the end of my tether.“I nearly inboxed the Prime Minister [Andy Burnham], but presumably he’s got bigger fish to fry.”And Crook then turned his attention to one of his brothers, who couldn’t help but poke fun at Crook’s misery over United’s latest horror show.In an X-rated blast, he said: “My brother, he’s not even into football, he hates football, my brother is more into karate than football. Weirdo.“He sent me a video of a young Man United fan crying outside Old Trafford, like, just f*** off and leave me alone, all right?“I’ve suffered enough watching this team, I don’t need people who don’t even like football to bait me, all right? Do one.”Premier League results - Matchweek 8Ipswich Town 1-1 Nottingham ForestAston Villa 2-1 Manchester CityArsenal 2-0 EvertonCoventry 0-1 FulhamChelsea 0-2 TottenhamCrystal Palace 0-2 NewcastleHull City 1-1 BrentfordLiverpool 2-0 BrightonManchester United 0-3 BournemouthSunderland 0-0 Leeds United
