I wanted a dynamic island on Windows without a notch sitting there all day, so I built Tomte. It's invisible until you push the mouse to the top, hit a hotkey, or drag a file up :) It has a file shelf, clipboard history, a scratchpad, media controls and search. AI is optional and uses your own key (Ollama works), so you can circle anything on screen and ask about it. No account, no telemetry, open source. https://tomte.xditya.me It’s still in an early stage, so tell me if anything breaks. Criticisms welcome :) submitted by /u/xditya_ [link] [comments]
