I built a free app that turns a folder of travel photos into a map of everywhere you've been

Wait 5 sec.

I have thousands of travel photos, and it bugged me that I couldn't just see where I'd actually been. So I built ZikZak. You drop in a folder of photos, or a Google Photos export, and ZikZak reads the location in each one. Within seconds your trips start lighting up on a world map, which is what the video shows. Then you can: scroll through your travels year by year on a timeline, replay your whole atlas, or a single year, as a short animated video, add places you dream of going and start planning them, share a link to your atlas with friends and family, if you want to. It's private by default, so only you see your atlas until you choose to share it. It's free and has no ads. It's still early, so I'd really love honest feedback. What's confusing, what's missing, and would you actually use it? submitted by /u/fberggreen [link] [comments]
