I made AirPane, a macOS menu bar app for AirPods. Open the case next to your Mac and a card pops up with a live 3D model, battery levels and a Connect button. Noise control and the other AirPods settings are in the menu bar panel. The current build is 0.9.6. The panel is calmer, Settings has a sidebar, and there’s less lag. Conversation Awareness is fixed, and “Keep them on this Mac” now holds even when your iPhone starts playing. It’s free during the beta and will be paid afterward. It’s closed source and still unnotarized, so the first open needs right-click › Open. The steps are here: https://airpane.vercel.app/open.html. I’ve only tested it with AirPods 4 (ANC) on an Apple silicon MacBook Air running macOS 27.0.1. Other AirPods models are supported but unverified. macOS 14–26 and Intel Macs are untested, and noise control is the part most likely to break on older macOS versions. It doesn’t support Beats. The video shows the app’s 3D models, not testing on each model. If you try it, please tell me your AirPods model, Mac and macOS version, and whether the popup, batteries and noise controls work. You can get it at https://airpane.vercel.app and report bugs at https://github.com/fellipegoncalvesleite/airpane-releases/issues. submitted by /u/Remarkable-Plum7030 to r/SideProject [link] [comments]
