I spent my free time in grad school building a social app for actual friends. Just launched it on iOS and Android.

Howdy everyone! I've spent the nine months building FRiENDS alongside grad school, and I finally got it live on both iPhone and Android. The idea came from getting tired of what social media has become. I wanted a place where I could actually keep up with my friends without scrolling through strangers, suggested posts, and algorithm-driven feeds. So I built it. FRiENDS has: A chronological feed showing posts from your actual friends Friend Groups with shared calendars and RSVPs to make planning things easier Multiplayer games like 8 Ball Pool, Pong, and Snake that you can play with friends I built it with React Native and Expo so I could release it on both platforms. It's free to use, with optional Pro features for $0.99/month. I'm sharing a short demo of what I built. Would genuinely love some feedback from other builders, especially on the design and whether the concept makes sense. iPhone: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6785718744 Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alexander.friendmediaapp Website: https://joinfriendsapp.com/ submitted by /u/FriendTechLLC [link] [comments]
