Siobhán Deering was supposed to be getting ready to walk down the aisle when she realized her wedding transportation was nowhere to be found, according to People. With just 20 minutes until her ceremony, the 28-year-old Massachusetts bride was allegedly left scrambling for a ride to the church after an apparent mix-up in her email communication with the limousine company. Deering’s wedding party had reportedly already departed in a party bus, leaving her and her father waiting at an inn for the limo that never arrived. When they suspected something had gone wrong, they called her mother, who was already at the church. Deering allegedly started panicking about arriving late and jokingly worried that her future husband might think she had become “a runaway bride.” It could have meant her dream wedding might not turn out as planned. Fortunately, her mother came to the rescue. She purportedly drove to pick them up, helping Deering and her wedding dress into the car before contacting the wedding coordinator to let them know they were on their way. Felt like a childhood dream Deering claimed the drive felt strangely familiar, reminding her of the days when her parents used to take her to school. It “felt like being driven to school,” she mentioned. Rather than focusing entirely on the time crunch, they chatted about how she was feeling and the beautiful weather. She even pulled out her phone to record a video for her husband, “I wanted to remember the moment.” “I think everyone in the car was feeling the pre-wedding jitters,” she reflected on how she never knew which school drop-off would be the last. The bride also spoke about how much she valued her relationship with her parents, explaining that her appreciation for their sacrifices had grown since getting married and starting a family of her own. She told the outlet that her respect for them had deepened further after watching them become grandparents that year. Despite the transportation mishap, Deering claimed the rest of the wedding went beautifully. The couple apparently had a Catholic Mass at their church, which she described as the highlight of the day, followed by a reception featuring four hours of dancing. Their DJ reportedly told them he had never worked a wedding where guests danced for so long. “It surprised me how long everyone wanted to dance,” she said. Friends who had worked with Deering served as the photographer and videographer, while an artist created portraits of guests. Her father reportedly shared a special first look with her before the ceremony, followed by a father-daughter dance to ABBA’s “Slipping Through My Fingers.” Even after all the panic that set in initially, she luckily didn’t have to cancel the wedding and said that she “wouldn’t change a thing” about how the day went.
