[HIRING] 2D Monster Concept Designer - Fantasy RPG

Wait 5 sec.

Hello everyone, I'm looking for an artist who can create 2D monster designs for my RPG. You don't need to create a finalized design, all I am looking for is someone who can create rough detailed monster concepts (line sketch, light shading detail, coloring) to then be translated into my game through a pixel artist. These designs need to translate well to pixel art monster designs that are constrained within a 128x128 pixel canvas, so high contrasts and simpler designs are preferred. As for the designs themselves, I'm looking for someone who can create monsters that are based off of real-life wild animals, extinct creatures, and/or mythological beasts, with a heavy dose of fantastical "grotesqueness" that makes them unique. You also need to be able to create a large variety of unique monster designs, not just limited to a single species or family of creatures. As an example for what I am looking for, take an enemy design from the recently released Final Fantasy Resonance (prev. Brave Exvius) barring the human on top of the creature: Compression alternative: https://atma.gg/final-fantasy-resonance/enemies/159 As you might be able to tell, it looks very similar to something like a wolf, but with obvious "fantastical + grotesque" mutations to make it very unique, and it's relatively simple in design to the point where it can be cleanly translated even to smaller canvas sizes. You would be making the 2D designs for these creatures, not the pixelated version. If you'd like some more examples, take a look at these sources: https://atma.gg/final-fantasy-resonance/enemies https://www.spriters-resource.com/pc_computer/octopathtravelerzero/ If you have experience with these sorts of designs and are interested, please feel free to DM me here, or reach out to me via email (preferred over DM): [garson@garsongames.com](mailto:garson@garsongames.com) and link a portfolio / past creations, as well as your rates. I won't be replying to anyone without a portfolio/example designs included in their response. Looking forward to hearing back from you all! submitted by /u/GarsonGames [link] [comments]
