I've been experimenting with AI for editing my vlogs, and one thing that frustrated me was how easily it could change something I was already happy with. So I built Director. It's a desktop video editor that works with Claude Code and Codex. You can describe the edits you want, but also lock parts of the timeline so AI leaves those sections alone. I'm a software developer, not a professional video editor, so this started as something I wanted for my own workflow.
