I’m building NOTW (Niche of the Week), a weekly house-music discovery chart. It’s at the prototype stage: people would share official track links, explore each other’s finds, and vote for favourites. I’ve deliberately removed public profiles. Submissions would just have an optional name. But that leaves a real trade-off: browser-based voting is easy to try and easy to abuse; private email verification adds friction before someone even knows whether the chart is useful. For a small community product, would you start with lightweight voting and be honest about its limits, or require verification from day one? What has worked in something you’ve actually built or used? I’m the person building it. Looking for experiences with this trade-off, not signups. submitted by /u/Holiday_Reserve_7851 [link] [comments]
