I'm a filmmaker currently in Osaka, working on a short film about Japan's traditional culture. I understand most koryu don't allow filming of their practice, and I'm not looking to ask any school to break that. Are there public enbu or shrine demonstrations coming up in Osaka or Kyoto where filming from the audience is acceptable? I'm here until October 25 and back from late November to mid December. If any school does welcome visitors with a camera, I'd follow whatever conditions they set, and I'm happy to make a donation and share the footage with them. Pointers on etiquette are welcome too.
