I got tired of needing a different remote app for every TV brand, so I built my own

Wait 5 sec.

I've been working on a side project called TV Remotely, and it's finally live on Google Play. The idea is simple: why do we need a different remote app for every TV brand? Samsung has its own ecosystem, LG has another, Roku has another, and Android TV works differently again. I wanted one app that could discover and control different smart TVs over Wi-Fi, without needing an IR blaster or additional hardware. What I underestimated was how differently these TVs communicate. Each brand has its own protocols, pairing methods, and quirks. Getting discovery and basic controls working across different platforms turned into a much bigger challenge than I originally expected. I built it using React Native, and it currently supports Samsung, LG, Sony, Roku, Android/Google TV, Fire TV, and several other platforms, although compatibility varies by model. The Android version is now live, and it's free to use. I've attached a short video showing it working on a real TV. I'm still improving compatibility and the overall experience, so I'd genuinely appreciate some feedback from fellow builders. A question for anyone here who's built a multi-device app: How do you handle testing when you don't physically own every device your app needs to support?
