I made a bunch of 3D printable cap ring grenades

Wait 5 sec.

I wanted to design a grenade that didn't need specific hardware or springs and was as close to fully printable as possible, and I feel like it's mission success! All these are fully printable, except for the cap ring -obviously- and a bit of 4mm shock cord to act as the spring (and they're pretty cheap tbh) Cap rings are louder the harder you slam them, and these consume a full ring per throw to ensure that plenty of them do go off, and loud enough. The same core system can be modified for several grenade types, from the humble M76 to the German M39, Russian RGD-5, US M26, US M110, Swedish M/56, classic Mk2, and also German DM51 (not pictured), so if you've got any specific request let le know! 😁 Aside from near-100% printability, safety was an important design factor. These weigh in at about 100g and, while cap rings aren't 100% hearing safe, they're a lot softer on the ears as other sound alternatives while still being loud enough to clear a room. I've slept in-field enough times to know you can't wear earpro all the time. While it might be a rude awakening, I'd have no safety issues chucking these in a fighting position where someone may or may not be taking an in-game nap 😴 The concept of 3D printed cap ring grenades is by no means original, but I like to think I gave it an interesting twist ^^ submitted by /u/IntroductionFun2330 to r/Airsoft3DPrinting [link] [comments]
