I built a grill-cleaning marketplace that's run by a team of AI agents. It's live. It has exactly zero customers.

Wait 5 sec.

I'm in Norwalk, CA and I run SizzleScrub — a marketplace where homeowners book a professional grill cleaning/detailing, and independent pros pick up the jobs. People keep asking: the business is operated day-to-day by a team of AI agents I built around it. There's a recruiter agent that finds and drafts outreach to cleaning pros, an onboarding agent, an ops agent that watches for stuck jobs every 2 hours, a finance agent that reconciles payouts, a security agent that monitors login attacks, a secretary agent that sends me a morning briefing, and an SEO agent that audits the site weekly. The chat widget on the site is also an agent answering from live database data. Guardrails are real, though: anything that contacts a stranger or moves money waits for my approval. Right now there are literally 15 recruiter emails sitting in my approval queue that I still haven't reviewed, so the machine is waiting on the human. Fair's fair. How the money works: customer books, card gets authorized and held in escrow — the pro keeps 85%, platform takes 15%, and funds are only captured after the customer confirms the job is done (or 72 hours pass). Pros don't get stiffed, customers don't pay for a no-show. Favorite bug so far: my Stripe webhooks failed with "Invalid signature" for weeks. I rotated secrets, checked dashboards, blamed everything except the code. Turned out the Stripe SDK's synchronous signature check literally cannot run in Cloudflare Workers — the crypto there is async-only — so every webhook was failing before the secret was even read. One-line fix, and I deployed it myself from the Cloudflare dashboard last night. First resent event: 200 OK. Felt better than it should have. Current status, no sugar-coating: 0 pros, 0 bookings, $0 revenue. The platform works. the bottleneck is recruiting the first few pros so the first booking doesn't land in an empty room. Sharing because building-in-public keeps me honest. Happy to take feedback on the site or the model — and if you clean grills anywhere in LA County and want side work with an 85% split, you know where to find me. submitted by /u/Commercial-Leader510 [link] [comments]
