It has emerged that new Tottenham signing Mykhailo Mudryk worked very hard away from the public eye during his near two-year ban for doping.Mudryk made his Spurs debut at the City Ground on Saturday, coming on for Mathys Tel on 74 minutes as the Lilywhites played out a 0-0 draw. The winger did look a little off pace in what was his first competitive appearance for nearly two years, and after the game, De Zerbi admitted that Mudryk needs to work more before reaching his best physical condition. However, it turns out that the 25-year-old has been working extremely hard during his ban to ensure he is close to being ready when the opportunity presented itself to return to competitive football.Photo by Maynard Manyowa/News Images/NurPhoto via Getty ImagesTottenham loan signing Mykhailo Mudryk trained at seventh-tier clubThe Sun has now revealed that the on-loan Chelsea man has been using the 3G pitch at seventh-tier outfit Uxbridge FC for his own sessions to maintain his fitness since the start of this calendar year.Uxbridge chairman Mark Bantock praised Tottenham’s Mykhailo Mudryk for working hard to keep himself in optimum shape so that he was ready to return to the pitch once the ban was lifted by the FA.When asked about the winger’s ban and what he has been doing at the club over recent months, Bantock said: “I wouldn’t know the intricacies of his case, but he’s a young man trying to make his living and, obviously, desperate to play football. I assume it was unknown to him the timelines of when everything was going to happen. But he made the commitment to keeping himself in good shape and honing his football skills during the course of his ban.“One way to look back on it is that by doing that, he’s now in a position to sign for Tottenham, so you’ve got to give him a lot of credit for that. I suppose human nature could well have been that, if he felt he’d been dealt a poor hand of cards, he could have just thrown it in, let himself go and not have been in a position to get back to play top-level professional football which, fingers crossed, he’s going to do in a short period of time for Spurs.”How Mudryk ramped up his training ahead of Spurs moveThe report reveals that Mudryk picked Uxbridge for his sessions due to its location, its state-of-the-art artificial surface and its privacy. The winger would train two or three times a week at the start of the year with a private trainer and goalkeeper, and in the lead-up to the ban being lifted he started being involved in mini-games as he upped the intensity and competitiveness of his sessions.Bantock added about the new Tottenham signing: “The other lads that he got in here were invariably young, probably non-league footballers at a much lower level to him, so he always stood out with his technique and his abilities as a footballer. “But we tried to provide him with privacy, so we always made a point of not trying to be sitting out there watching and staring. He was always very polite. There were no long conversations. I don’t know how fluent his English is. We got used to seeing each other on a head-nodding basis, as it were. But he was always very respectful of us and our facility. He used to come, do what he did, and go.”“I’d love to be able to wish him all the best at Spurs, but I really can’t do that. Certainly not for two games of the season, or if we play them in the cup. But on a personal level, as an individual and as a human being, I hope he can put it all behind him and go on to have great success in his career.”READ MORE: De Zerbi reveals why he really dropped Mateus Fernandes from the Tottenham XIThe post How Mykhailo Mudryk has been preparing for his Tottenham loan since January appeared first on Spurs Web.
