The Hershey, Pennsylvania, theme park first announced the closure of The Boardwalk water ride earlier this year, confirming that it would shut down at the end of the summer.On Sunday, September 6, the Sweetest Place on Earth issued a statement on social media, officially saying goodbye to Tidal Force:After 32 years, it’s time for Tidal Force to set sail. Visit us for one last ride through Monday Tidal Force carries guests up a 100-foot incline before a stunning splashdown that exceeds speeds of 50mph. The ride originally opened in 1994 and spent 32 years drenching riders and spectators on The BoardWalk.Credit: HersheyparkHersheypark hasn’t said why it decided to close Tidal Force, nor has the Pennsylvania theme park indicated plans to replace the attraction. The South-Central Pennsylvania theme park will once again offer its annual fall events: Hersheypark Halloween and Dark Nights.
