India has given in-principle consent to participate in the 2027 South Asian Federation Games. These games are scheduled to be held in Pakistan from April 4 to April 11, 2027. This decision separates sports from bilateral issues and follows the government's stated policy. Pakistan is set to host the SAF Games after a gap of twenty-three years. Preparations for the event are currently being reviewed by Pakistan's foreign minister.
