My guess is that thrift stores won't make much money unless they get a lot of volunteer or sub-minimum wage labor, plus donated materials for shipping their online orders, if any. The idea of doing or getting something is often much better than the thing itself. The thrift stores that aren't closing are consolidating or raising their prices substantially.
