Għargħur Mayor Francesca Attard has come under fire from two PN councillors after a council-assigned worker was removed from his role and sent back to a government department.PN minority leader Helen Gauci and PN councillor Marilena Galea accused the mayor of taking the decision behind fellow councillors’ backs and without discussing it during a local council meeting.The RSSL worker had been assigned to the Għargħur Local Council, where his main duties included carrying out maintenance work on roads around the village.Gauci and Galea argued that his removal means he will no longer be carrying out these works for the locality and its residents.They described the dismissal as an example of decisions they claim are being taken without proper consultation with other councillors.The two PN councillors condemned the mayor’s approach and questioned her commitment to transparency and good governance, saying they will continue working towards a council they believe Għargħur residents deserve.What do you make of the controversy surrounding the worker’s dismissal?•
