The average monthly basic salary for employees in Malta stood at €2,282 during the second quarter of 2026, according to new figures from the National Statistics Office.However, salaries varied significantly depending on occupation, ranging from an average of €1,412 for people in elementary occupations to €3,657 for managers. Financial and insurance activities recorded the highest average basic salary by sector, at €3,021.Meanwhile, Malta’s employed population reached 339,935 people, an increase of 3.4% compared to the same period last year.
