“A Black Man is the Holdout Juror? I Have to Sit With That for Just a Second” – CBS Host Gayle King Stunned to Learn Lone Clancy Holdout Was a Black Guy

Wait 5 sec.

CBS host Gayle King exhibited dismay upon learning that a black man was the lone holdout juror who did not vote to acquit in the Lindsay Clancy case, saying he needed a moment to come to terms with the revelation. Clancy killed her three children, and admitted to the crime, but the defense argues she is not guilty by reason of insanity. A mistrial was declared last week after one male juror held the line.During a Friday CBS interview with juror Paula Devlin, King wanted to know exactly who the holdout juror was, likely thinking he was a heartless White man.“I’m curious about the jurors themselves because we know it was nine women, three men. What was the age range? What was the racial makeup? I haven’t heard any of that. What was it?” she asked Devlin.  Devlin revealed that the jurors ranged in age from “70ish to 22” and that it was all White with one person of color. She then confirmed that the lone holdout juror was a black man.“A black man is a holdout juror,” King responded. “Well, I have to sit with that for just a second.” She was apparently devastated to learn that a black man would try to enforce the law.At the end of the interview, five minutes after the revelation, Gayle King was still stewing.“All right, I’m very fascinated by the holdout juror learning that he’s a black man today. Can you just tell me his age? I’m very curious,” she said. Upon learning that he was in his 30s, King was astonished once again. “Oh, younger,” she added. She just couldn’t believe that a black man would vote to hold a woman accountable for killing her three children.WATCH:!function(r,u,m,b,l,e){r._Rumble=b,r[b]||(r[b]=function(){(r[b]._=r[b]._||[]).push(arguments);if(r[b]._.length==1){l=u.createElement(m),e=u.getElementsByTagName(m)[0],l.async=1,l.src="https://rumble.com/embedJS/u2vbt6g"+(arguments[1].video?'.'+arguments[1].video:'')+"/?url="+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+"&args="+encodeURIComponent(JSON.stringify([].slice.apply(arguments))),e.parentNode.insertBefore(l,e)}})}(window, document, "script", "Rumble");Rumble("play", {"video":"v7d743k","div":"rumble_v7d743k"});This comes as Black women are apparently rallying behind Clancy.Dr. Kameelah Phillips, a black female board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, argued that black women accused or convicted of similar crimes have not received the same nationwide wave of sympathy on Oprah Winfrey’s podcast this week. The studio audience erupted in cheers.MORE:Oprah Audience ERUPTS in Applause as Doctor Demands “Pink Shirts and Energy” for Black Mothers Who Kill Their Children — “I Want Us to Have the Same Passion”/*!
