Newmarket-based trainer George Scott has announced ambitious plans to base a number of horses in Dubai this winter, housed in a barn comprised of 20 boxes outside the international quarantine stables at Meydan Racecourse.“We are really excited to be stepping up our commitment to racing in Dubai and across the Middle East,” said Scott. “It feels like the right time to expand the operation internationally off the back of a series of fruitful winter campaigns in the region.“We're planning to take a team to target racing at all levels across Dubai. The Dubai Racing Club programme offers a huge amount of opportunity for different types of horses. We've already identified a number of horses to take, but we'll also be looking to strengthen the team at Tattersalls Horses in Training Sale and privately.”Scott has enjoyed notable success in the Middle East in recent years, including the victory of West Acre (Mehmas) in the G2 Blue Point Sprint at Meydan and the historic exploits of Isle Of Jura (New Approach) when he completed the Bahrain Triple Crown.West Acre is set to be among the team based in Dubai for the winter, alongside other talented performers such as Wimbledon Hawkeye (Kameko), Commander's Intent (Victor Ludorum), Gamrai (Lope De Vega) and Saber Strike (Night Of Thunder). Bahrain racing operation Victorious Forever will reportedly underpin the new venture, with Scott also “keen to involve as many current owners as possible”.Scott, who will also have a separate team for Bahrain, expects the horses to ship to Dubai in mid-November, ready to target races before Christmas, including the Festive Friday fixture on Friday, December 18.The post George Scott Racing to Expand International Operations with Dubai Base This Winter appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
