European Parliament President Roberta Metsola has once again spoken about the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia, days after Yorgen Fenech was found not guilty of complicity in her murder and conspiracy to kill her.Speaking at the European Parliament hemicycle during EPP Youth Week, Metsola was questioned by one of the participants about last week’s verdict and the fight for justice for the assassinated Maltese journalist.“What happened on the 16th of October 2017 is something that I never believed would happen in my country,” Metsola said. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)“That a journalist, a woman, a mother, a fearless writer who was investigating corruption at the highest level of my country would be assassinated in broad daylight by those who thought they were above the law.”Metsola said the message she delivered following Caruana Galizia’s assassination remains the same today, stressing that the push for justice must continue across Malta and Europe.“What I said nine years ago, and what we continue to say here, across the House, across the political groups, every day until justice is truly served, is that we will not give up and we will not give in,” she said.The European Parliament President added that while some may want those demanding justice to give up, doing so would be a disservice not only to Daphne’s family and legacy, but to Malta and Europe as a whole.Metsola later shared footage of the exchange on social media with a short message: “Not giving up.
