Matthew Caruana Galizia has thanked those who used yesterday’s Malta Pride March to show their support for justice and accountability in Malta. In a Facebook post, the son of assassinated journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia shared a photo of a placard from the march carrying the message “No Pride Without Justice”. “Thank you to all the people at pride who recognise that we are all fighting for the same essential things,” Caruana Galizia wrote. Starting with our own home.” The message was among several political statements carried through the streets of Valletta during this year’s Pride March, which brought together members and allies of Malta’s LGBTIQ+ community. Calls for justice for Daphne also featured during speeches at the event, with Malta LGBTIQ Rights Movement representative Dali Aguerbi saying participants “demand the truth for Daphne Caruana Galizia’s family and for this country”.•
