Valletta was awash with colour yesterday as crowds took to the capital for the 2026 Malta Pride March.Organised by Allied Rainbow Communities (ARC), the annual march saw people make their way through the streets of Valletta carrying rainbow flags, colourful costumes and signs celebrating Malta’s LGBTIQ+ community.But alongside the celebrations were several strong political messages, with placards and banners reading “Pride is not a photoshoot”, “The problem isn’t gay people, the problem is the rich people” and “No Pride without justice”. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)The latter referenced the recent acquittal of Yorgen Fenech, with Malta LGBTIQ Rights Movement representative Dali Aguerbi also telling those gathered that the community “demand[s] the truth for Daphne Caruana Galizia’s family and for this country”.Prime Minister Robert Abela and Opposition leader Alex Borg were among politicians who joined the march, alongside representatives from both sides of Parliament.•
