Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso admitted his side deserved no more than a point from their meeting with Hull City in the Premier League on Saturday. The newly-promoted Tigers continued their strong start to the campaign by securing a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, keeping them third in the table and a point ahead of the Blues. Morgan Rogers gave the hosts an early lead, but they found themselves behind at the break thanks to a brace from Mohamed Belloumi. Joao Pedro equalised 20 minutes into the second half, but they were unable to find a winner before the final whistle. Chelsea were once again impressive in attack, but their defence remains leaky. While they have scored 18 goals in six games in all competitions, they have also conceded 12. Alonso said afterwards that the west London outfit were “too soft” for Belloumi’s first goal, which allowed Hull back into the game. The Basque native wants his side to impose more control on matches, but admitted that could take months to develop. ‘Soft’ Chelsea ‘got what we deserved’ against Hull City“We’re disappointed with the result,” Alonso told BBC Sport. “We wanted to win. We have to be disappointed with some parts of the performance especially when we had the lead.“We were too soft for the equaliser. We can do much better.“[Playing well for] 15 to 20 minutes is not enough. You have to be on your top for 90 minutes. There are times we’re not able to keep that momentum and intensity. We could have done more for sure because we had chances.“We had one or two good chances to get the winner but you’re still open. Not happy. We can do better. We got what we deserved.“We need to be more solid and be more controlled. New players and new staff. This is the process. In a few months I’m sure we’ll be able to control better.”Read – Alonso prays for ‘boring game’ as Hull hold Chelsea to entertaining draw Read More – Xabi Alonso ‘very happy’ as Chelsea star signs new dealSee Also – Palmer played ‘important role’ in £117m Chelsea transferFollow the Football Faithful on Social Media:Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | YouTube | TikTokThe post ‘Soft’ Chelsea ‘got what we deserved’ against Hull City appeared first on The Football Faithful.
