Former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said he informed Prime Minister Robert Abela in advance that he intended to hold his press conference, telling his successor that it could have political implications.Muscat said he spoke to Abela before addressing the media and explained what he intended to say, including points which he believed Abela could not answer himself.The disclosure came when Muscat was asked whether Abela had been aware of the planned press conference and whether he was “on board” with it.Muscat alluded to the fact that him informing Abela did not mean the Prime Minister necessarily agreed with everything he was going to say.
