Imagine believing that you are in a perfect relationship. Then you head out for a job and learn the hard way that you were nothing more than the side piece. This absolutely dramatic version of this nightmare scenario recently went viral after a baker shared her story on TikTok and Instagram through the British creator and podcaster TXC (txcstories). The story, which has racked up more than 1.6 million views, proves that some people and their mothers are always bad news. In the video, TXC narrated the baker’s version of the story, explaining that she had been in a long-distance relationship for three months, seeing her boyfriend, Sam, every other week. She noted, “We met on Tinder, and there have honestly been absolutely no red flags.” She felt their connection was perfect, adding, “He’s always available to pick up my phone call, he always messages back quickly. When he’s here, I have his undivided attention.” When the baker booked a job to create a wedding cake, she realized the venue was in the same area where Sam lived. She decided to surprise him, noting, “I’m gonna go do the job. I’m not gonna say anything to him. I’m just gonna turn up where he lives.” She traveled with her best friend, who also acted as her colleague, and they arrived at the venue early. She claimed that things started going wrong when she recognized Sam’s mother. An unwelcome surprise TXC narrated, “I realise I am seeing my boyfriend’s mum for the first time. I’ve only ever actually seen her in pictures, but I recognise her.” She approached the woman and introduced herself, only to get a strong response. The baker claimed, “When I tell you, this woman looked stunned. Stunned as if I have my head on backwards.” As the baker was done introducing herself, another woman interrupted. Then her friend came and pulled her away. View this post on Instagram Apologetically, the baker’s best friend showed her photos from around the venue, which allegedly revealed that Sam was the groom. The baker was shocked, but she eventually decided she needed answers. It should be mentioned that all we know is what TXC narrated in the story, so none of this can be verified. In her follow-up video, she explained her return to the venue, stating, “I will be damned if I let another woman walk down the aisle to a man who’s beginning marriage in a web of lies that has me entangled in the middle of it.” Just when she was about to do that, TXC noted that the baker stumbled into another crazy detail. She allegedly overheard a confrontation between Sam and the maid of honor. The latter had purposely invited the baker to have her break up the couple so that her friendship with the bride wouldn’t be ruined. The maid of honor purportedly admitted she had been in love with Sam and had been lied to for a year and a half. She allegedly told Sam, “I couldn’t tell her how I’d fell in love with you. I couldn’t confide in her that you’d broken my heart. That you’d spun me lie after lie for a year and a half, telling me that we were gonna be together, only to break it off and leave me on the f—ing floor.” @txcstories I made the wedding Cake for my Boyfriend… and his wife Part 2 #fyp #storytime #followerstory #wedding #cheating ♬ original sound – txcstories As she kept looking for the bride, the baker eventually encountered Sam’s mother again, who admitted she knew about the affair all along. She claimed that the mother told her that Sam and the bride were done since the mother of the bride had heard the baker’s introduction. She tried to comfort the baker, telling her, “He really does like you, you know.” That was the moment the baker was done. TXC noted that she told Sam’s mother she was disgusting and left. TXC’s viewers were floored by the story and completely engaged. One Instagrammer user noted, “Baby girl, you got set up!!!” Another wrote, “I’d have found the bride and told her she needed a new best friend too.” On TikTok, one person kept their priorities straight, stating, “I hope you got paid for the cake.” Another advised, “just dump him… he’s obviously led both of you on… he’s a liar and cheat….cut off 100%, heal and move on” Glamour Magazine noted that cheating is inherently hurtful and deceitful, regardless of how long a relationship lasts. They also reminded the victim that being cheated on says everything about the partner’s character and nothing about the victim’s worth. It is a reminder that you cannot control the actions of others, only your own reactions. In the end, the baker chose a clean cut. Through TXC, she mentioned she changed her number, deleted her social media, and is now focusing on her own healing process.
