EURUSD: define the range before choosing a directionEUR/USDOANDA:EURUSDordanemarketsThe Federal Reserve calendar places the September FOMC meeting on September 15 and 16, with projections associated with this meeting. That is a reason to separate an event plan from a directional forecast. On a four hour EURUSD chart, define the high and low of the last completed session before evaluating the next move. Keep that reference fixed. Moving the boundary after price crosses it changes the test. The first question is location: is a completed candle inside or outside that reference range? The second is persistence: does the next completed candle remain outside, or return inside? A brief excursion alone does not answer both questions. A close above the range followed by a close back inside weakens a continuation interpretation. The same test applies below the range. Continued closes inside leave the range framework unresolved; staying flat is a valid observation outcome. This is a conditional reading framework, not a claim that a breakout has occurred or that any level will hold. Record the candle times and data feed before comparing observations.
