Malta’s Andria Buhagiar has been appointed as a judge at the General Court of the European Union, after the country’s nomination was officially accepted.Buhagiar was nominated by the Maltese government to replace Judge Ramona Frendo, who has since moved on to serve as a judge at the Court of Justice of the European Union.Before her new European role, Buhagiar served as Deputy State Advocate, with Justice, Research and Innovation Minister Clifton Grima thanking her for the dedicated service she provided in the position over recent years.The government welcomed the appointment and wished Buhagiar success as she takes on the new role.Her appointment also means that Malta will now have two judges serving on the EU’s General Court.The government said this reflects the calibre of Maltese professionals working within the legal sector while strengthening Malta’s contribution to the administration of justice at European level.Share this amazing accomplishment!•
