By Any Means follows a black FBI agent (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) charged with finding the culprits targeting and killing civil rights leaders in Mississippi. The agent teams up with Greg Scarpa (Mark Wahlberg), a renowned mafia hitman, who inevitably pushes him to cross the line. Audiences like this movie (87 per cent score), which is inspired by a true story (Yahya’s character is based on Lindley DeVecchio, a real-life FBI agent who navigated the Mafia wars of the 80s and 90s). Critics were not nearly as impressed (52 per cent rating). They agree that By Any Means gives viewers the satisfaction of watching deranged racists get what they deserve. However, they feel like everything else takes a back seat to the violence. The movie fails to deliver anything meaningful in terms of character and plot. You can watch By Any Means in cinemas today. mbjjnr8@gmail.comThe post By Any Means now in cinema appeared first on The Observer Media Ltd.
