After becoming the first female jockey to win a British Classic in the G1 Betfred St Leger on Saturday, Saffie Osborne has entered the William Hill betting for BBC Sports Personality of the Year (SPOTY).She rode Highwayman (Persian King) to success at Doncaster and is as short as 10-1 to land the award. Team GB sprinter Amy Hunt is the current 8-11 favourite to win this year's SPOTY, with Josh Kerr next in the betting at 4-1 and Harry Kane at 9-2.Osborne is shorter in the betting than the 16-1 Jude Bellingham, 40-1 Rory McIlroy and the 40-1 Lando Norris. The last jockey to feature in the awards was Hollie Doyle, who finished third in 2020.William Hill's Lee Phelps said, “Saffie Osborne's history-making first Classic win on Saturday looks to have already transcended horse racing, as she's flown into 10-1 to win BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
